Egypt: Red Hot Chili Peppers to perform at Giza Pyramids

On March 15, the pyramids of Giza in Egypt will host the legendary rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers for a unique concert, part of a world tour to promote their eleventh album, The Gateway, released in 2016.
This Egyptian stopover seems to delight the group’s co-founder and bassist, Flea, who said on Instagram: “My heart is full of joy at the idea of performing in Egypt […] I am so grateful and moved for this imminent experience”.
The pyramids of Giza light up for the show
This concert will mark the first performance of the Red Hot Chili Peppers in North Africa, but the pyramids of Giza are used to significant performances. Legendary artists such as Frank Sinatra, Pink Floyd, Kylie Minogue, Mariah Carey and Shakira have had the honour of playing at the feet of these emblematic sites.
The tickets for the show have been on sale since January 18, 2019.
